Jatropha Oil Extraction Plant

Jatropha oil is extracted from jatropha seeds with the help of jatropha oil extraction machine. The yield of oilseeds determines the amount of oil to be extracted, as well as the amount of feedstock added to the machine to extract the oil. Jatropha is most commonly used in the extraction of this oil. These fruits are picked at the time of ripening and the seeds are removed to dry. For the seeds to be ready for extracting the oil, they must be left to dry in the sun for several hours. Alternatively, the seeds can be roasted for 15 minutes. Drying or frying the seeds helps to break down the cells that contain oil, making the oil flow easier.

There are several methods that can be used to extract jatropha oil from seeds. It is worth noting that the final method of extraction used depends on the Jatropha oil extraction machine.

Once extracted using a jatropha oil extraction machine, the extracted jatropha oil is purified to remove any impurities and contaminants from the extraction process. Many purification methods are used for vegetable oils.

Filtration: Filtration is very slow and is used for commercial production of vegetable oils. As such, it is not recommended, but a small amount of vegetable oil may be economically viable when purifying the oil. In filtration, cysts are used to remove impurities and contaminants from the oil. This purification method may not be 100% efficient as small size contaminants and impurities can pass through the sisters.

Extracted oil storage

After the jatropha oil or other vegetable oil is purified, it is then prepared for use. The storage of oils needs to be carried out expertly because vegetable oils are known to react with oxygen in the atmosphere as well as other environmental factors. This in turn interferes with oil quality and prolonged storage; The quality of the oil can be extremely poor which will limit the use of the oil for its intended purposes. When storing jatropha oil, it is important to ensure that the storage facility is moisture-free, and that the oil must be stored, it has less than 1% fatty acid content.
